NEW YORK -- Sophomore Max Carow (Fanwood, NJ) equalled his school record in the pole vault, and junior David Raucci (Clermont, NY) won the 5,000-meter run, to highlight a partial Marist College men's track squad that competed at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championships, held Friday afternoon at The Armory Track and Field Center. Carow placed sixth in a jump of 4.05 meters (13 feet, 3.5 inches), tying his record that he set last winter.

In the 5,000-meter run, Raucci took the lead shortly after the 1,600-meter mark and held off furious challenges from pursuing runners for the victory in 15:13.20. Later in the day, Raucci ran the 1,200-meter leadoff leg in the distance medley relay that placed fourth in 10:22.62, a season-best time. Other members of the relay were freshman John Carabetta (Park Ridge, NJ), sophomore Conor Shelley (Rockville Centre, NY) and junior Girma Segni (Bronx, NY).

In the 3,000-meter run, freshman Patrick Duggan (Rockville Centre, NY) ran a strong, personal-best performance of 9:00.91, shaving more than six seconds off his previous best that he set two weeks ago. Duggan placed 13th.

The full squad of Red Foxes will return to action Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Valentine Invitational at Boston University.
