Thirty-One Marist Runners Named To MAAC Indoor Track All-Academic Team

EDISON, N.J. - Thirty-one Marist indoor track and field performers were named to the MAAC All-Academic team on Friday. The Red Foxes led the conference with 18 selections on the women's side and 13 on the men's side. For the women, Katryn Bernarde (Latham, N.Y./Psychology/Special Ed.), Brittany Burns (Watertown, N.Y./Psychology/Special Ed.), Holly Burns (Watertown, N.Y./Biology), Valerie Capullo (Schenectady, N.Y./Sports Communications), Justine Colabraro (Chatham, N.J./Biomedical Sciences), Sarah Domermuth (Voorheesville, N.Y./Psychology/Special Ed.), Megan Flaherty (Oceanside, N.Y./Human Resources/Spanish), Sarah Keating (Katonah, N.Y./Radio/TV/Film), Lindsay Kelly (Clifton, Pa./Biomedical Sciences), Maureen LaClair (East Moriches, N.Y./Political Science/International Studies), Kerri Mannino (Amityville, N.Y./Business/Finance), Jen McNamara (North Attleboro, Mass./Political Science/International Studies), Lindsay Rappleyea (Gloversville, N.Y./Psychology), Laura Reilly (Pearl River, N.Y./Accounting), Heidi Richards (Northport, N.Y./Social Work), Colleen Ryan (Poughquag, N.Y./Ameican Studies), and Katie Topalian (Camp Hill, Pa./French & Fashion Design) were all named to the All-Academic team.
Max Carow (Fanwood, N.J./Digital Media), Thomas Dixon (Staten Island, N.Y./Business/Finance), Kris Geist (East Berne, N.Y./Mathematics), Matthew Janczyk (Bristol, Conn./Biomedical Sciences), Colin Johnson (Clark, N.J./Public Relations), John Keenan (Centereach, N.Y./Psychology), Ted Marak (Guilford, Conn./Biology), Greg Masto (Schenectady, N.Y./Communications), Matthew Maynes (Tolland, Conn./Communications), Mike Rolek (Maplewood, N.J./Sports Journalism), Girma Segni (Bronx, N.Y./Business & Accounting), and Joe Tarantello (Cheshire, Conn/Business/Finance) all earned the honor for the Marist men's team. To earn the honor, a student must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a 3.2 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The Marist College indoor track and field teams will compete in the MAAC Championships at the Armory in New York City on Friday night. |
